How long do Tape-in Extensions last?
Everything you need to know about durability, care, and reuse
Tape-in Extensions are one of the most popular hair extension methods - and with proper care, they can last a really long time. But how long, exactly? And what affects their lifespan?
In this post, we explain everything you need to know about the durability of tape-ins, the difference between hair qualities, and how to maximize their lifespan.
How long do Tape-in Extensions last?
In general, tape-in extensions last between 6 to 12+ months, depending on the quality you choose and how well you care for the hair.
- Original quality: approx. 6 months with normal use
- Luxury quality: 12 months or longer with proper care
Both qualities from BSExtensions are 100% genuine Remy hair and double drawn, meaning the hair is full all the way to the ends. However, the luxury hair has undergone a gentler coloring process in which the cuticle is preserved, making it stronger and more durable.
How often do you need to move them up?
Tape-ins need to be moved up approximately every 6–8 weeks because your own hair grows. However, the hair itself - that is, the quality of the hair strands - can be reused again and again as long as it is in good condition.
